Building Connections for Downtown’s Tomorrow
PURPOSE:
The Emerging Leaders Network identifies and cultivates a diverse group of promising future leaders and downtown advocates. The program, which began in 2022, allows the Nashville Downtown Partnership to nurture our growing downtown community through education and fellowship, raise awareness of issues and topics that impact the region's economic engine and the city's most vibrant neighborhood, and encourage civic participation.
PARTICIPATION QUALIFICATIONS & CONSIDERATION:
Program participation is offered as a benefit of NDP's membership program and offered to qualifying employees of dues-paying member companies. Participants are accepted annually for FREE participation in this one-year program. The selection criteria considers the following:
- Employment at a downtown company that is an active Corporate Member with the Nashville Downtown Partnership (requirement)
- Leader in one's field or in the community (early or mid-career status)
- Affinity for civic participation/community relations
- Interest in and commitment to downtown matters including economic development, neighborhood vibrancy, public-private partnerships, urban planning
- A member of a minority group at large or within one's field (gender, race, ethnicity, ability, etc.)
*Limit of 2 program participants per qualifying company each year
2024 DATES:
After a successful two-year pilot of the program, the Emerging Leaders Network is on hold as we work to incorporate it into other organizational initiatives. To request an update when the program is relaunching, contact Jeanette Barker at jbarker@nashvilledowntown.com.
